ASNMSU funds student organizations and individual students through a reimbursement model, most often for conference and competition travel. To receive funding, your bill needs an ASNMSU Senator sponsor and must pass the three Senate standing committees, as well as the full Senate. Senate meetings are biweekly on Thursdays at 6:00pm. However, attendance is not required to receive funding.
The ASNMSU Senate President Pro Tempore will delegate your bill to a Senator, unless you already have a Senator you prefer to work with. That Senator will be your main point of contact throughout the rest of the process.
Your organization pays all reimbursable expenses upfront, and ASNMSU reimburses your organization after your bill is passed by the Senate. Keep copies of every receipt. They will be required by the Comptrollers near the end of the process.
Start by Talking to a Senator
The requirements for your specific bill depend on factors like the amount requested and the number of attendees for a conference or competition. The fastest way to get the correct answers is from an ASNMSU Senator. Reach out to a Senator from your college, or to the ASNMSU Senate President Pro Tempore, and they will tell you which forms and requirements apply to your reimbursement request, as well as help find a suitable Senator sponsor for your bill.
